When you cook rice in a rice cooker, it is like a plug and play device, you place the rice in, measure a proportionate amount of water, Keep the lid covered and switch it or push it to cook mode. Voila! In half hour ( or an hour depends on the rice cooker ) you have a perfectly made rice. What's also good is that in a rice cooker, you can keep it warm for hours without “ damaging” the cooked rice.
